Black Friday is an American tradition and the official start of the Holiday Season. The American shop until you drop phenomena is now encroaching more and more into Thanksgiving, a holiday that has always symbolizes with time spent with family and friends. 22 million American retail workers had to work on Thanksgiving Day forgoing a turkey dinner, family time and the opportunity to reflect on what they are thankful for. Christmas, held as a religious holiday, has redefined the term Christianity. Conspicuous consumption has become the new Christianity.
