Today's show discusses the real solution to America's immigration problems and also the continuing fallout and analysis from the anti-immigration Bigot King rally in Iowa attended by GOP leaders with some notable exceptions. Also, I discuss some news regarding trends in Latino economic success and growth in America with an article from Forbes magazine. Finally I read two pieces of cultural significance. Writer Michelle Garcia inaugurates a column concerning the image of Texas which over the decades has eliminated Latinos from the picture. Finally, I read a piece about Vicente Fernandez and his farewell tour. We find that there continues to be analysis and fallout from the bigot King's rally in Iowa and Linda Chavez does a great job with her analysis calling Donald Trump a fool. I appreciate that. Later, Alex Nowrasteh's article concerning the tremendous need for a Guest Worker Program similar to the Bracero program of the 1950's is essential to solving our illegal immigration problem because even though our Border Patrol is 500% larger than in the past and we have hundreds of miles of fencing we still have a large illegal immigration problem but no guest worker program. I argue that is a solution but that our opponents refuse to discuss that because they are only interested, because they are anti-Latino bigots, in removing Latinos from America. Forbes magazine reports that Latinos suffered more during the recent recession but gained more quickly than other groups and reported on the top cities for Latinos in America. Cities in Florida and Texas faired better than the traditionally top ranking cities of the past: New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.
