Unheeded Mercy Brings Judgment

Last week's study described Jonah's well-known journey to Ninevah and how the Ninevites repented. This week's study opens with the prophet Nahum's "rest of the story". Several generations after Jonah, the city of Ninevah  again turned back to sin and rebellion. This time God's judgment was assured.

Nahum and Habakkuk both warned against sinful choices. God;s mercy can be abused, bringing eternal consequences. Yet every sinner has the opportunity to recive forgiveness and divine favor.
