The Call To Discipleship

Over the years some have distinguished between becoming a Christian and a disciple. The New testament makes no such distinction. the term "disciple" means learner or follower. In order to be a Christian, a person must commit to follow Jesus. Jesus did not say discipleship would be easy. Following Jesus means putting Him and His Kingdom first. The world and our self-centered human natures constantly call us to pursue self-interest above all else. Christians must make the hard choice to put their selfish interest aside and follow the more difficult path. This week's study explores Christ's call to set all other things aside in order to follow Him.
