Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Church had it's beginning in a powerful and surprising way on the Day of Pentecost (see Acts 2:1-4). Suddenly there was a sound of a great wind, the appearance of tongues looking like fire, and the disciples began praising God in languages they had never learned. That day about three thousand people were saved through faith in Jesus Christ. The events that day showed the power of the Holy Spirit and what He can accomplish through followers of Jesus. In today's study we will learn what the Bible teaches about the baptism in the Holy Spirit and Spirit-filled living. May what we learn today encourage us to seek to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and live as Spirit-filled followers of Jesus.
