Saul, a Failed Leader

Most people want to be successful in whatever they do, but pride and self-will often follow success. Ironically, pride and self-will often lead to the downfall of those who are successful. And it is not just success in business or entertainment that can lead to pride and failure. Too often it seems ministers and other Christian leaders who have known success have failed to stay humble and that lead to their downfall. Successful leaders must stay humble in order to keep pride and self-will from controlling their lives. As believers, we must not be - or must learn not to be - arrogant and determined to have our way. Pride can cause us to rebel against God's will for our lives. we need to be willing to obey God in every circumstance. This week's study emphasizes the need to be humble and obedient.
