People Christ Commended

This summer players, coaches and broadcasters will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. Some children dream of someday achieving this honor. Those elected to the Hall of Fame feel a collective pat on the back from fans, fellow players and sportswriters. As exciting as it is to be memorialized in a sports museum, it does not compare to being commended by Jesus. The Bible shares stories of individuals who received commendation for their actions. Like little kids hoping to follow in the footsteps of their heroes, Christian today can learn from the people in these stories and enjoy the commendation of Jesus by following their example.
