The "Pharisee", a holier-than-thou person is a popular stereotype in today's entertainment. In such stories, the self righteous person often is proved to be a secret hypocrite who is worse then the imperfect, but loving, people he judges. In Luke 7 the Pharisee and the sinner are painted differently. The issue is not which of them is secretly more sinful. The big questions is how can anyone, Pharisee or sinful woman be forgiven?
