Alive In Christ

Spiritual life is a powerful theme in Paul's writings, and particularly in the passage for this study. Here Paul dealt with the spiritual life given to anyone who will receive Christ as Savior. This wonderful life is presented in contrast to death brought by sin. Without the transforming power of Jesus death and resurrection, spiritual life would not be possible. People would be condemned to suffer the wrath of God. Thankfully God, "who is rich in mercy" (Ephesians 2:4, KJV), has made it possible for any who will receive His salvation through Christ to be reconciled to Him and be given eternal life. New life is not something we can get on our own. We are powerless to be released from the death grip of sin. It is only through the gift of God's wonderful grace that we can be saved and made part of His great family.
