Life or Death?

A young woman enters a clinic where she ends the life of her unborn, unwanted baby. Across town, a man thinks of ending it all in suicide. Both of these people face much the same problem. They have a low self respect for human life - one for her own baby, the other for the man in the mirror. The Bible gives a very different picture of life. It shows life as the sacred gift of God and teaches us the importance of respecting human life. The sixth day of creation was a special day. What made it so special? Was it so so special? Was it the creation of animals? God made them on this day - some large, others small. But God had done something like this the day before when he made animals that swam and animals that flew. (Gen 1:20-23). What set this day apart was the creation of human beings. God made humans unique from all other creatures He had made, for only they were created in His image. Today, when many think of human life on the same level as animal life, or sometimes even lower than animal life - we need to remember that God still requires respect for human life.
