The Houston Rockets managed to beat the New Orleans Pelicans at Toyota Center Wednesday night… but just barely. The Rockets couldn’t hit the side of a barn standing still for much of the night. They were 3-of-34 from the 3-point line, and twice they missed 15 in a row. In the last several days, they’ve released guard Marcus Thornton and agreed to a buyout with Ty Lawson. Now it seems they’re about to add a couple of veterans to boost the offense. Hmmm… but their defense is what is their glaring weakness. Well, Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy joins us live to talk Rockets and what’s happening around the NBA.

But first, we talk a little college hoops… in particular the Final Four. With March Madness set to tip off next week… the road to the Final Four in Houston is officially underway. Doug Hall, CEO of the Local Organizing Committee, joins us live with an update on fans can expect in and from Houston in about 30 days.

And of course the NFL Combine was last week and now teams are looking at freeing up salary cap space and free agency. Sources say the Houston Texans are set to part ways with running back Arian Foster. Foster was set to be more than a $6million cap hit in 2016 and he’s recovering from a season ending Achilles injury.

We’ll talk about all this and more… today on Chalktalk!
