Butch Woolfolk was the New York Giants first round draft pick in 1982 after a standout college career with the Michigan Wolverines. Woolfolk is now a successful businessman, proud husband, father and grandfather. He’ll join the show to talk about the game today; his life away from the game and how he’s managed to build on the success he had on the field. And of course he’ll talk a little about the Houston Texans and share his thoughts on where they are and what they need to get to the next level.
We’ll also have some insights from the NBA. The game has changed since I covered my first game in 1986 (remember… I started in this business when I was 12!), but a lot of things have remained the same. We’ll talk about some of what made the NBA great back in the day and what makes it great today.
And we’ll take a took at what’s happening around college football. Is the University of Houston still undefeated? Just how good is this Cougars team? What about Prairie View and Texas Southern? The SWAC Championship is headed back to Houston so it seems fitting that we talk about the goings on in that league.
As always there is your part. What would you like to hear and/or talk about on this week’s show? Let me hear from you before hand or join us live. Whatever you decide it will be a fun hour of sports talk, infotainment and edutainment.
This week we'll take a hard close look at what's happening on the field in the NFL and NCAA.
That means we’re talking Houston Texans since they’re heading to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in a Monday Night Football prime time showdown. Okay… showdown might be a tad strong, but you get the point. We’ll also look at how the University of Houston Cougars is playing after starting 8-and-0 under first year coach Tom Herman. Now don’t worry, we won’t stop there. The Aggies, Longhorns, Panther, Owls, and Tigers will not be forsaken.
Hey, it’s your show too… so you know the drill. Let me hear from you…send your requests…and it just might be part of the lineup.
Oh yeah…it’s basketball season and while the Houston Rockets are working things out, the above listed college teams are also in action. So put your game faces on, get ready for an all around update. Check back later for more details.
Get ready for an action packed hour you don’t want to miss. See you online!

The New York Jets in a Must win situation - did'nt. They're no longer in the AFC Wildcard Picture. The Texans have Some quality Defensive Players and one special wide reciever named DeAndre Hopkins.
The Jets lost more than a game, more than a playoff spot. They lost their star Defensive back Darrelle Revis to a concussion and Center Nick Mangold to a right hand injury that required stitches.
Each week the New York Jets have had a new and different problem costing them the game; excepting their Special Teams which have been a problem from the start of the season. This Team needs Offensive line help. A pass Rush and a sense of urgency.
Ryan Fitzpatrick and his injured companions had player execution problems again this week; Kenbrel Thompkins was inactive in favor of Devin Smith, who again could not deliver. Does Todd Bowles have what it takes to win situational Fooball and are he and Chan Gailey on the same page?
Let's talk Dolphin's. Yes, they're 6 -4 but that does'nt mean this Jets Team will beat them this Sunday.
Join Hosts Herb LaLane (@ThaKingofQueens) and James Boyd (@OneJetDrive) as we break it down and talk about our position in the AFC East and conference.
Tonight on Open Mike, I welcome guest Karen Vankat to talk about the shaky NFC East. The Eagles and Redskins both lost on Sunday, while Dallas won. Are the Giants still the team to beat in this division, or does Dallas have a shot? Also, we will talk about the Jets debacle against the Houtson Texans, and the impact on both teams. Check us out at 5:30.
