VOICE FOR ELDERCARE ADVOCACY

Phyllis Ayman known as “The Voice for Eldercare Advocacy” is an Eldercare Consultant, Advocate, Speaker and Speech & Language Pathologist who brings an insider’s view into the nursing home industry after working in 40+skilled nursing/short-term rehabilitation facilities for over 25 years. In her second book about the industry, “OVERDUE Quality Care for Our Elder Citizens” she provides valuable insight and necessary information for individuals and families so they can become more informed and effective advocates for themselves and their loved ones. Phyllis has been a regular guest on WGCH AM Greenwich Business Talk Radio since November 2018 and was interviewed on the Sustainable Success Show on Voice America Radio in January 2019. She is also a board member of the Massachusetts Advocates for Nursing Home Reform. As a speech & language pathologist Phyllis has been known for her empathy and high standards of care while building and creating innovative programs in an effort to improve the quality of life and quality of care for all nursing home residents.

“OVERDUE” Quality Care for OUR Elder Citizens examines how we as a culture treat our elder citizens as they continue life’s journey. The author presents the idea that Our Elder Citizens are essentially Our Future Selves, and therefore, each and every one of us should be concerned about the quality of care and quality of life they receive, especially within the long-term care setting. This book provides information on the nursing home industry from an insider’s perspective, more dignified, respectful and effective models of care, and the need for grassroots advocacy and a national conversation on how we care for our elder citizens.
