What an amazing summer this has been for Nile Rodgers, master of the grittiest, bad-ass funk guitar on the airwaves ever since the Disco era. Nile has survived decades of toiling as a studio musician and producer in the shadow of superstars like Madonna, David Bowie, Duran Duran and Big Bird (yes, Nile played on Sesame Street), as well as the hard-driving leader of Chic, and finally is enjoying his moment in the limelight. Today club dance music is back stronger than ever, and Nile has an international hit with "Get Lucky", his collaboration with Daft Punk.

After being diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer diagnosis, Nile threw himself into work with the energy of ten mortals, writing his best-selling memoir "Le Freak: An Upside Down Story of Family, Disco, and Destiny", embracing new technology with his blog and Twitter account, and reaching out to work with artists like Adam Lambert and Sam Sparro ("Shady"), Daft Punk and current EDM phenom Avicii ("Lay Me Down", with Adam Lambert). What's not to love about this man? His openness, resilience and sheer joy in making and sharing music are winning a new generation of fans.
