Journey into Consciousness with Maria Broderick

Join host Shelly Wilson for this journey into consciousness with Maria Broderick. During this segment, Maria will be discussing her work with qigong massage for children on the autism spectrum.

Maria Broderick, Ed.D., Lic.Ac., is a developmental psychologist and a licensed practitioner of acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture and a doctoral degree in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University.

Maria is a member of the faculty of the New England School of Acupuncture (www.nesa.edu) where she supervises acupuncture interns in the pediatric unit at Boston Medical Center and teaches courses in Chinese medical pediatrics.

Maria has conducted research on the efficacy of holistic approaches to promoting health and well-being at Harvard’s Mind/Body Medical Institute, at Boston area hospitals and research centers, and at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she was appointed a post-doctoral fellow and served on the faculty as Lecturer in Education. While a graduate student in Oriental medicine, she received a Schweitzer Fellowship.

Maria’s practice focuses on helping children with developmental disabilities. She trained in Qigong Massage for Autism with Louisa Silva, MD, and is the primary East Coast provider of this research-based program for helping children on the autism spectrum through a massage protocol that can be delivered by parents at home.
