Is the above comment just another conspiracy theory, Oliver Stone-type lament by a fringe element that through Don Quixote eyes sees big business as ferocious giants instead of benevolent windmills?

I hope not because I wrote the opening paragraph.

No, in case you are asking, I do not wear socks with sandals or handcuff myself to trees.  In fact quite the opposite.
