Why Did The Serpent By Pass Adam ?

Why didn't the Serpent by pass Adam and choose to talk to Eve instead of Adam ? I believe that Satan want to cause destroy the human race and the only way to do so is to have them to disobey God's command. So the Serpent directed alot of question to confuse Eve .God had set in order a chain of orders and direction. So there will be no confusion.God directed Adam on his responibility of the Garden of Eden and he share that with Eve.
