It's a damned shame that nowadays despite the so-called "shortage" of good black men most black American women will give a man funny looks and suspect he is gay if he is in his mid-20s or older, has an education, a decent job, and no kids (but he is rarely questioned about why he's still a bachelor though).

Dana (ThatsRealTalk) was right on---marriage and relationships require effort and discipline in order to function. Also, Mr. Legend was right on with his assertion that marriage is a very big risk and potential disaster if a man chooses the wrong woman to be his wife.

The loss of standards is all too pervasive in Western societies when it comes to relationships and mating. Mr. Legend articulated what most of us who are of a similar mindset have been thinking and saying for years---too many women are basing their mate choices solely on a man's salary and material riches (and "swagger" in the black American community).
