Dr John Potter, Principal Scientist of the Systems Technology Department at the NATO Undersea Research Centre, joins Defence IQ to talk about the evolving role of the submarine. One of the key challenges today for submariners is underwater networking, how to bring the submarine more completely into the network and make it responsive. This interview addresses how these challenges can be tackled, how close we are to successful underwater networking, and what the advantages would be of full integration of the submarine. Dr Potter will be speaking at the forthcoming Submarine Operations and Requirements Conference 2010, taking place in London from 29th September - 1st October.
