David interview Andrea Marcum founder of U Studio Yoga in Los Angeles www.ustudioyoga.com A native of California, Andrea Marcum grew up in Santa Cruz before migrating south to LA for college. Though she enjoys many styles of yoga, it is the sweaty rigors of vinyasa that she finds herself most drawn to. Andrea proudly opened U Studio in April, 2006. It is the commUnity of those who helped build it that inspired the name. A community that is all inclusive and ever expanding-- where people of all ages, sizes and orientations move and breath together on the 5th floor of an extraordinary art deco building enjoying views of the Hollywood sign and the downtown skyline. Her class is a rigorous but intelligent flow, with an emphasis on alignment. A physically challenging class with room for playful laughter. In addition to teaching yoga, she is an accomplished songwriter and winner of ASCAP's prestigious Sammy Cahn National Songwriting Award.
