In Ward 8, we live in a food desert but we are not alone. There are also food deserts in Roanoke Valley, NC, and South Valley, New Mexico. In our hometown, there is one grocery store that services over 70,000 residents. Today, we wanted to discuss the day to day realities of not having access to food options? What foods do we enjoy eating? Do we cook? If so, how did we learn to cook? What restaurants do we have in our community? How does this differ from our counterparts West of the River?
