With the continuous rise of sports and recreational activities and the increased emphasis on improving athletic abilities, interest in the relationship between sports and vision has grown.  On this updated edition of Healthy Vision™ with Dr. Val Jones, optometrist and researcher Graham Erickson, O.D. talks with Dr. Val about the relationship between vision and sports performance. According to Dr. Erickson, who has studied the impact of vision on sports performance and has worked with hundreds of athletes to maximize their vision for individual sports and lifestyle, vision skills required for sports, such as visual clarity, good peripheral vision, central vision, depth perception, and visual motor processing, can all be enhanced.

In addition, professional basketball player Dwight Howard explains how good vision has played a key role in helping him develop his basketball skills and become one of the most talented players in the league. For Dwight, learning where to focus his vision during a game came with experience. Taking time off the court, Dwight is also a mentor in the ACUVUE® 1-DAY Contest, where he counseled Anthony, an aspiring professional basketball player.
