Eugene Quinn worked as an executive chef in restaurants around the country for years until he decided it was time for a career change and began working in telecommunications. He is NOW the CEO of The Advisory Group, a company he started in 2001. When Mr. Quinn thought about the success he achieved in his careers in both food and sales, he realized he always followed the advice his mom gave him. Thus was born his first book, "MOMS ARE THE CEO’s OF LIFE." Eugene Quinn interviewed many successful people, including music mogul Don Kirshner, legendary illustrator of the beloved Eloise books Hilary Knight and former NFL quarterback Ken Anderson, and found that they all attributed a big part of their success to the lessons their mothers taught them.

Mr. Quinn will discuss these lessons, and how to translate them into success in the business world, including:

  • Mom said, “If you want something, ask politely.” In business, show respect to your fellow workers.
  • Mom said, “Wipe your feet.” In business, keep your work area clean, and leave your problems at the door.
  • Mom said, “Follow your heart.” In business, do what you enjoy and it will never seem like work.
