pt1 Can I have a word with skeptics? or should I say the skeptical aspect of everyone that reflects the search for meaning and truth?  I would not want to have this conversation before morning coffee, and then maybe following one of those thoughtful walks through the woods when shadows don't obscure as much. More is visible if you're inclined to notice [in painterly fashion] the grey hues that seem to connect each piece of nature with another. If I understood the totality of Freemasonry which I don't I doubt I would be able to instruct, but I might explain protocols and manners are part of a much fuller pallette.  It's safe to say FM is a body of knowledge but if you feel it is lacking in some way, perhaps you need to be reminded, it is also a way of thinking.  In earlier configurations Master Masons told us about the this ubiquitous path.  What they hesitated to explain was the direction of that path moved outward and inward. Outward tells us such things as ways we identify ourselves and one another, protectors of mysteries. Inward, we address questions of immortality, making our own discoveries, to ensure we learn and apply our traditions because we believe. Consider, that you and I  were a freemason the moment of initiation. Yet the words are faint until, we discover the mason within. {Where were you made a mason?} FM reminds and acknowledges what is already known. In that way it is like mathematics or philosophy. We know but being reminded of connections is striking.  And so it goes within a Brotherhood of Awareness. FM gives you form but the urge of a mason, the talent the willingness, striving, that is what you brought. I can tell you such things but they are empty words until you discover for yourself the truth they contain. Remember, you are that man- who lives quietly, who is satisfied with what he has, both poet and philosopher.
