FREEMASONRY IS DISCOVERY: DISCOVERY IS INTELLIGENCE

Each time we meet, each time we open a lodge, each time we lean into a meaningful conversation, we reinvent the occasion of Freemasonry. Lofty words are said about us to others.  The secret?  No embellishments are needed. They don't matter. We are doing what thoughtful people have done for centuries. We connect with purpose. I like it that we aren't all the product of atrophy. Not at all. We are a cross section of life, rich with enthusiasts, despair, optimists brushing aside a sense of dystopia. Even when we embarrass ourselves, clinging to familiar notions when we are honest enough to appreciate being part of a Brotherhood is hard. Thinking of some entity greater than ego- setting my needs aside for the greater good-why would I want to step away from the mindset so prevailent that allows a man to protect himself from being lost in the struggle of individualism? Damn those humanists. Damn you Spinoza. Step away David Hume. Who cares about ancient philosophies? Damn you. Now I am not a sheep. All Hiram did was inspire me to open my eyes widely and accept thte fact I am one mind, a man with agency, one of billions, who has a unique perspective, unravelling secret.Am I anxious struggling with unanswered questions?
