I am still getting over the initial shock. The innocent looking letter arrived from my doctor on April 11th. I quickly opened it, read through it and everything looked pretty normal. Test results … all negative. Except one. My Hemoglobin A1c was elevated. It is a blood test that is used to monitor the control of blood sugars.
It indicated that I had type 2 diabetes.
I had two choices. Do nothing and the insulin shots and medication would soon follow. Or IMMEDIATELY change my eating habits, exercise and permanently change my lifestyle.
