I am still riveted by Solomon Northup’s powerful life story visually reenacted in the Oscar Winning movie 12 Years A Slave. Not only is it the TRUE story of a free Black man kidnapped and thrown into slavery for 12 years before escaping to freedom. It’s a documented historical event because Northup chose to tell his OWN story shortly after gaining his freedom in 1853.  Had he not had the boldness and courage of telling his story, his amazing journey might have been lost forever.

Granted, your life is probably not as perilous as Solomon Northup. But you DO have stories that are worth documenting. Daily stories of things that happen in your life each day worth jotting down in a notebook to keep forever.

And that is our topic today. How you can capture your own stories, your joys and sorrows in daily chunks that won’t take you more than 20 minutes each day. It’s the basis of my fourth book, My Personal Journal, Chronicle Your Life One Day At A Time. Listen to today’s show and find out the many ways you can journal and how it will enhance your own sense of empowerment and confidence in all that you do for yourself, for others and for the world around you.
