Joan Wallace BenjaminAll cultures and ethnic groups struggle with socio-economic issues that impact society at large. The African American community is often especially hit hard with family, health, and educational challenges that take years to resolve. On this last Thursday of Black History Month we'll turn to the programs and champions who are working as bridge builders to help strengthen the lives of children, families, and parents in an ever changing world. One community changer is longtime activist Dr. Joan Wallace Benjamin, President and CEO of The Home For Little Wanderers. (www.thehome.org) She will talk about her work with children and families and the efforts to assist and support youth who are aging out of Massachusetts' state Social Service system (DSS/DCF).
