America's chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan mere weeks before the twentieth anniversary of 9/11 has made thousands of Afghans desperate to reach the United States and other countries of refuge in order to escape renewed Taliban rule. Alone during the withdrawal, American planes flew out an estimated 124,000 Afghans to the United States and American bases abroad, from which these refugees will eventually come to the United States. Many Afghans in the future could also attempt to make their way to America. What has been America's past experience with Afghan refugees, and what challenges will this current wave bring? Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian will join show host Andrew E. Harrod to discuss these and other matters.
