Philanthropy tends to draw creatures of habit, and moving a new concept or identity is never an easy task.  Possessed with the power to embolden or destroy an idea, rarely do we look it dead in the eye to ask the question:  are our philanthropic dollars really doing anything other than singing the song of the status quo?  Too often our philanthropic endeavors target the symptoms of social ills rather than the root cause.  To examine the latter requires a keen eye and solid intuition that can discern patterns and trends.

Imari Paris Jeffries, President of I&P Consulting, will discuss his thoughts on the three issues that all foundations should consider to be successful in the future.  His background in organizational development provided the footing needed to build successful organizations.  He will share his insight on what is needed to ensure that all our communities are rising up to their full potential, rather than just a gentrified few.
