In the wake of Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi, 18, committing suicide after a video revealing his sexuality was streamed on the internet. Tonight we are going to explore an article presented by Liz Goodwin of the Yahoo news blog "THE UPSHOT". Liz explores in her article below the question, is bullying gay teens causing suicidal ideation? Is the media a factor between gay bullying and suicide in the U.S.? Is suicidal ideation an ignored symptom of mental illness? Let's stop at the CHECKPOINT and do a check-up from the neck-up. Tonight our guest will be David Fournier, of Restoring Grace. David's ministry focuses on spiritual formation through the light of Our Creator. Dave writes, the Scriptures tell us that towards the End of the Age, difficult times will approach. But these same Scriptures quote the Leader and Author of our faith, Jesus, telling us not to fear. He says He will be with us, through it all. We may not be able to dodge the pain and suffering of this world, but we can find hope, direction and connection with God on our journey. http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20101013/pl_yblog_upshot/expert-says-media-dangerously-ignores-mental-illness-in-coverage-of-gay-teen-suicides
