Stereotypes about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people are conventional, formulaic generalizations, opinions, or images about persons based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Stereotypes and homophobia are a learned outlook, i.e. from parents, teachers, peers, or the mass media, or a lack of firsthand familiarity, may tend to lead to more reliance on learned stereotypes. We will discuss these stereotypes and myths. Please join us to share your thoughts.

"LGBT UGANDA UPDATES"
by Marcinho Savant in Culture
Tags: kill gay brutality lgbt Uganda
UPDATE: The show has been delayed by one hour. Please stay tuned. ***** In Uganda, homosexuality is a crime. LGBT people are targeted in ruthless, brutal attacks for being LGBT. You must be careful, he said, in going to the Doctor, because it is VERY LIKELY that the DOCTOR would call the POLICE to come and DEAL with you. One needs to be careful about going to a store, and the path one chooses ---even the time of DAY, in which to be most safe. One can be staked, surrounded and beaten--- in the wrong store, at the wrong time. Andrew runs a number of "Safe-Houses" in which nearly forty people are sheltered. He and GEHO are responsible for providing everything for these "clients". Food, clothing, medicine, shelter, internet access ... otherwise... the people would have NOWHERE to go. Nowhere. They live like prisoners, like "witness protection", trapped, for their own safety, within the safe house walls. Lest they risk being harassed, beaten or killed at any moment. I'm planning to create an ongoing series called "LGBT UGANDA UPDATES", which I feel needs to be an ongoing concern until LGBT EQUALITY is the law of the land. Andrew will be the principal guest, with guest activists sitting in as contributors as well. Please listen. Please call in. Learn about the brutal inhumanity these people endure. Help make a difference in their lives, through increasing awareness. Let them hear your words of strength, faith, prayer and hope. Please join us. WEBSITE: http://ugandaupdates.weebly.com
