Former Sergeant and Iraq War veteran Mike Dowling joins us to discuss his book ‘Sergeant Rex; The Unbreakable Bond Between a Marine and His Military Working Dog’ and his work after the United States Marine Corps.

Army Sergeant First Class Walter Taylor, after three combat tours, may spend the next three years in Fort Leavenworth's prison. Last July, an IED initiated ambush left five of SFC Taylor’s soldiers wounded. Across a field, a black car rolled into the security zone passed two white cars. Taylor’s combat engineer platoon exchanged fire with insurgents in the nearby hills and the white cars as they sped away. A week later, SFC Taylor was badly injured by an enemy grenade attack. We’ll discuss this tragic prosecution of a split-second, fog of war decision.
