From humble beginnings to a nearly $400 million dollar company, Unishippers has never lost its focus.
In 1987, four entrepreneurs had an idea for helping small and medium-sized businesses save money on their shipping: consolidate all of their shipments under one account in order to receive discounts similar to those of large companies. With just one partner and one product (U.S. express), this simple concept of aggregate shipping took hold. And when 85 customers came on board in the first month alone, the Utah Shippers Association was born. More than 25 years later, that common sense business model has grown into Unishippers – but the focus of giving smaller businesses discounts and services they can't get on their own is still the same.
Unishippers was the very first reseller of complete shipping services in the U.S. and this straightforward concept has proven to be an inspired business strategy.
