Bronx born Rush Humphrey was influenced early on by the work of classic comic books and hero cartoons. He studied at the New York School of Art and Design and later at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Rush studied under notable mentors: Will Eisner; father of the graphic novel and Harvey Kurtzman; creator of the world famous Mad magazine among many others. Today, his work is primarily using pen, ink, pastels, watercolors and his favored medium, digital painting. His commissioned work can be found in private collections and in his first crime novel called Guns and Daughters.
