• The Little Saigon Foundation started in early 2009 with a mission to revitalize the densely populated Vietnamese business district of El Cajon Boulevard. Over thirty years ago many Vietnamese immigrants set foot on America from their war torn country with nothing to their name. Nearly forty years later, the Vietnamese community has proudly established itself in cities all around the United States one of them being the city of San Diego. We want to give the small business owners on El Cajon Boulevard the recognition they deserve for overcoming the many socioeconomic, cultural and language barriers it took for them to set up Vietnamese businesses and for creating a welcoming environment for the Vietnamese community on El Cajon Blvd. by officially renaming the area "Little Saigon."
