Selika Corley has always been an advocate.  Please don’t mistake her smiles and calm demeanor as a sign of weakness.  Selika is stronger than she appears.  She has used her platform to educate the community on the rising crime of Human Trafficking.  Selika has used her voice for those who have been silenced by their abusers, whether it was domestic violence or sexual assault.  Selika has used her voice in the court room; helping victims of domestic violence to fight for protection orders against further abuse.  She has worked tirelessly to train with other advocates and agencies to provide the best service possible to her clients.  She has facilitated training for the Crisis Counselors with Catholic Charities Rape Crisis Center, the entire staff at Hinds Behavioral Health in Jackson, MS and offers trainings by participating in trauma conferences and Human Trafficking conferences.  Selika has a passion for helping people.  She has volunteered with many organizations to fight domestic violence, homelessness, and human trafficking.  Selika often says, “I work so hard, because I know how it feels to be silenced.  I am fueled by my past experiences…especially my domestic violence and having a child lured and kidnapped into sex trafficking.  I will not stop fighting for this cause.  There are far too many dangers in the world for people to sit quietly.”

In 2013, Selika established Without Consent Foundation.  The goal of Without Consent Foundation was awareness and prevention against Human Trafficking and referral sources for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.  “There was once a time when I didn’t know what to call it (trafficking)…Now that I know, I won’t stop until everyone knows.  I want everyone to join this fight.”
