This will be the first report on my trip to Sacramento, California to cover the Families Resist Demonstrations at the Capital building and some attempts that I made to lobby the politicians there in support of Assembly Bill 1663, The Probate Conservatorship Reform and Supported Decision-Making Act. This bill will prioritize less restrictive alternatives to probate conservatorships and establish greater protections for conservatees to ensure that they maintain choice and control. I also tried to advocate some of my addmendments to this bill for more accountability and law enforcement against judges that do not follow the law. While I was at the demonstrations I was able to interview Rick Black who is the Director of an organization called CEAR that is based in North Carolina. His organization is "Educating and counseling families on estate trafficking by the predatory legal community and their leverage of the dysfunction in our nation's equity court system. Promoting national redress and reforms to protect vulnerable adults, their estates, and their heirs." An audio clip of my interview with Rick Black is featured in this episode. https://www.cearjustice.org
