Reflecting back on The Day, growing up in the 60s-70s, I found myself talking with my grandson about the music of our day and the words contained, realizing that many of the same words exist in the music of his day but they are hidden with little demand because the words that denigrate a people and our women is part of another master plan. I then asked that he consider in the future the following: when you listen to the music is it for the groove, the knowledge, the meat; or are you simply getting up out your seat moving to somebody else’s beat? Honor our ancestors both near and afar, for their music lives on and even to this day it continues convey and inspire. The music is not meant to cause fight, flight or even states of acquiesce, and we encourage you simply to know, understand and do your best. Please enjoy, comment and let us value one another, for we each have a purpose.
