For African Americans education has been a top issue since the introduction of slavery over 400 years ago. African Americans have been punished for learning to Read and and Write. Education for many African Americans is the way to a better life. Something along with voting rights we have shed blood for. Down South and Dirty concludes Black History Month talking about Educations where we have been and where we want to go. The Issues of the past that seem like issues of the present. How do we ensure a better educational future for our children. What models do we have out there, that we are looking to for solutions? What have we done and how has it worked out?
