The Don S. McClure Show - Racism - History and Reality Now

History has a profound way of sharing the ugly truth about a time period in our life, that many of us would not like to discuss, think about, or even remember for any reason much less talk about it in our world today. Once the door or windows of history come rushing out unto the world stage, filled with death, oppression, injustice, and conquest of the vanquished. It can leave a foul taste in your memory banks and even change how you see events you were once proud of knowing. I once wrote for every victory; there was a defeat, a loss of life "if you will" along with land, property, and possessions.   Take for example: The Trail of Tears a series of forced relocations of approximately 60,000 Native Americans in the United States from their ancestral homelands in the Southeastern United States.  What about the Spanish colonization of the Americas.  The Reconquista:(Portuguese and Spanish for "reconquest") a period in the history of the Iberian Peninsula of about 780 years between the Umayyad conquest of Hispania in 711, the expansion of the Christian kingdoms throughout Iberia,in 1492. And let's not forget the Civil War where blacks were treated as free labor in the South.  African American Veterans Hoped Their Service in World War I Would Secure Their Rights at Home. It Didn't they returned home from the war for America. White supremacy tested Racial violence worsened, the horrific examples a massacre took place in July 1917 in East St. Louis that left over one hundred black people dead and entire neighborhoods reduced to ashes.

History will always reveal the points of facts, no matter how ugly or how interesting we seem to make it.It show the human side of life and what people feel is right at the time.
