When does the light go off in your mind that you are defeating what progress you have made in life through your current actions? Your age is a strong indicator that some progress has been made even though it may not be at the level that you would enjoy.  

You have to think as a male or female human being your progress has been fought by others before you, and yet you have no idea what price was paid. Take for example: the rights of women is taken for granted by younger women when progress was long over do.

 Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. The 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote.

1839 – The first state (Mississippi) grants women the right to hold property in their own names – with permission from their husbands. 

1873 – The Supreme Court rules that a state has the right to exclude a married woman from practicing law. 

1900 – By this year, every state had passed legislation granting married women the right to keep their own wages and to own property in their own name.
