Richard Morgan is an Alaskan native, and grew up with all the winter could muster against him and his family. His family lived off moose and chicken meat during the winter and chicken and eggs a neighbor raised during the summer, as well as catch salmon for immediate and future consumption.

Immediately after graduation, he joined the Marines and trained in San Diego CA. Immediately after boot camp, he was sent to train for the Iraq invasion, and later he was deployed on his 2 tour of duty to Fallujah in 2004.  Later, after running out of money for his college education, he was offered a private security position in Iraq, which he took to get out of debt. After a period of time in Iraq and Afghanistan, he then returned home. He was introduced to Prepping via James Rawles’ book. AS he learned more about prepping, he was also learning about the US’ failing economy and became aware of our troubled economy.

He discusses some of those feelings and why he became an active prepper with Doctor Prepper—and urges others to become prepared.
