My martial arts bio is as follows. Began my Tracy Kenpo and Modern Arnis training under Sifu Don Zanghi in Buffalo, NY in 1981 and earned my Kenpo-Arnis 1st degree black belt in December 1985. Then met Sensei Ernie McPeek in 1986 and earned my 3rd degree black belt in Tracy Kenpo in 1988. I also continued training in Modern Arnis under Professor Remy Presas and was awarded my 3rd degree black belt in 1991. In 1987, I opened the Erie Community College Kenpo-Arnis Self Defense Program. That program is a credit bearing 4 course sequence and it is the only Kenpo and/or Arnis program in the USA and Canada that is taught for college degree credits. Each of the 4 courses in the sequence earns one (1) credit hours towards graduation and is taught on an elective basis. After I retired from ECC in 2012, two (2) of my former students continued the program at ECC through the current Spring Semester of 2016. Thus far we have taught nearly 1000 students through the ECC program. In 1989 Professor Remy Presas endorsed and signed-off on the ECC Self Defense Program Curriculum. In 1992 GM/Punong Guro Tom Bolden (American Modern Arnis and GM Al Tracy (Tracy System of Kenpo) endorsed and signed off on the ECC Program. In 2004 GM Bram Frank sponsored me for the Sokeship Council as head of Tactical Style Escrima. In 2007 I was recognized by the Kenpo International Hall of Fame and inducted as a Charter Member of that organization. Senior Grand Master Vincente Sanchez awarded me the titles of Grand Master and Datu of the Independent Escrima-Kenpo-Arnis Associates. And in August 2015, Grand Master Al Tracy awarded me the rank of Judan - 10 degree Black Belt.
