Several weeks have passed since the world viewed cell phone footage showing a group of teens viciously kicking and striking 16-year-old honors student Derrion Albert to his death with splintered railroad ties. The public outrage has ramped up pressure on Chicago officials to address chronic violence that has led to dozens of deaths of city teens each year. But conspicuously absent and missing in action is one Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

In order for one to be labeled as a leader and activist, requires a willingness and desire to fill the bill. Once again, when incidences of black on black crime rises its ugly head, neither one can be seen at the scene of the crime.
