The United Nations is having Iran at the table for Syrian talks.
Needless to say Israel is pretty pissed that they weren't invited to the talks. United States is a little worried that there might be progress and a real solution via Iran and Syria. Personally it would be most welcome to all Middle Eastern countries and the UN in particular.
I believe it would be very advatagious to the Middle East if we can have Iran as the go to people for real peace process in the Palestine-Israeli talks. Iran is the closest country to being a true democracy. Congress would see the same thing if they let go of all previous assumptions, prejudices and payroll of Israel Lobby
