Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Transformational Health Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Best Selling Author and BTR host.
Over the last few weeks I realized that people are changing, some for the better, some for the worse. Why is this important to me?
By now you know that Health includes: Physical, Mental and Financial Health to be balanced and complete. So why talk about it again?
Experience: People are stressed, depressed, gain weight due to quarantine - unhealthy snacks - less motion - more emotion - being bored - having lost their job - unemployment - not reading clearly - perceptions vs facts - drinking more alcohol - eating too much fast food - etc.
Example: I wrote on a post that "I heard on Dr. Radio...." and someone jumped down my throat telling me how wrong I was, how silly of me to... I did not claim, support, acknowledge anything, just stated what I heard. How does that make me wrong? Well, I immediately used my tools of Stop, Challenge, Choose and came to the conclusion that this person must have had a rough day, did not really read what I wrote, had his/her own perceptions without facts, needed to say something, just to have said anything.......
What I learned: People are overreacting, taking their frustrations out on others, are questioning life as is,....
Tips: Self care: sleep, hydration, exercise, positive mindset, avoid gaining wt, be safe, stay healthy, learn a language, play an instrument, connect with others, it's Physical Distancing, NOT Social Distancing, walks, stretching, strengthening exercises...
