Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Transformational Health Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Blogtalkradio host and #1 Best Selling Author with my Stress Reduction Book on Amazon.

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite Holidays. Love the gathering of family and friends, and enjoy the choices I get to make about eating healthy and in the correct proportions, so I will feel great that day and the days to come.

Do you remember a Holiday Meal where you ate too much, then felt sick to your stomach? Is there a way to avoid that and still be very happy?

What are your tips/options to choose from, so you feel great?

1. Do not attend a function hungry. Eat a small snack before you go, so you have time to check out the buffett before serving yourself with food.

2. Always have a glass of water in your dominant hand, so you are not tempted to graze or taste everything that's on the table.

3. If you want to taste something, have 1 bite instead of an entire slice, especially when it comes to pies, cakes, cookies, etc.

4. Focus on Family and Friends, not the food.

5. Too much Sodium and Sugar retains water in your body, bloaded, feeling uneasy, drink more water to flush out.

In 2015 - 2016, the prevalence of obesity was 39.8% in adults and 18.5 % in youth?

The stimated annual medical cost of obesity in the US was $147 billion in 2008 US dollars; the medical cost for people who have obesity was $1,429 higher than those of normal weight.  https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html

Happy, blessed, healthy Thanksgiving with lots of caring and sharing.
