Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Nurse, Fitness Trainer, Educator, Speaker and Author.

Last week I mentioned that February is the Love Month for me with all the birthdays in my family.

Today I want to explore what LOVE is. Are there different kinds of love? Why is love important? How does love have an impact on our mental, physical and financial health? Why do I bring it up now? Does it have anything to do with Valentine's Day?

Definiton of Love

Conditional Love: If, When, As long as..

Unconditional Love (parents, grandparents, spouse...)

Understanding, Acceptance, Patience, no judging, BUT encouraging, supporting, guiding, allowing to spread the wings (especially for children)

Pers. ex. Bonus mom

Movies:

Facing the Giants: Love of coach for his wife and for his team, Love for God

Courageous: tough love for Sheriff partner, love for family

Fireproof: Love for job, saving lives, his Father (mother later), wife

When you google LOVE, there are so many sights that come up that either define what love is, how to love, poems, lyrics, etc. I don't want to overwhelm you, though give you a push to figure this out for yourself. When we love others unconditionally, are open to listen, support, etc. we live a much happier life than when we think we are always correct. Sharing is caring. Choosing the correct type of love for the best outcome depending on the situation is important.
