Silence

The realm of silence--do we know anything about it? In these days of constant push and pull, and rush and roar, is it possible to even remember, yet alone appreciate the calm, unruffled, and retiring spaces of our existence? When one begins to speak of stillness some are afraid, or uncomfortable; and more still are so attuned to the constant hum and drum that they seem unable to function without the constant background noise. But the truth is that there are some forms of knowledge which necessitate; absolutely require stillness. God-knowledge, self-knowledge.......not only can these not be understood; they can not even be approached until we have learned to be still.......still in body; still in soul; still in spirit. Hear what the Word has to say; Psa 4:4  Stand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.......Hab 2:20  But Jehovah is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him....... Psa 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Our strength, and our power is in this stillness; for only here can we come into His presence.
